The host of CILAC 2018 will be Panama City, Panama. This pioneering initiative was established in 2016 by the UNESCO Regional Office for Sciences for Latin America and the Caribbean, in Montevideo, with the support of regional and national stakeholders. The forum takes place every two years and alternates from one Latin American and the Caribbean city to another.<\/p>\n

CILAC 2018 is formulated around the motto \u201cScience Connects\u201d, an aphorism suitable for the host city, home to one of the great engineering achievements of the 20th Century\u2026the Panama Canal. This 77km long artificial waterway connects North America with South-America, the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n

From the 22nd \u2013 24th of October, 2018, Panama City will be home to the\u00a0\u00a02nd edition of the Open Science Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean<\/strong>, developed within the framework of the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
