Es un tumor agresivo que, cuando se detecta, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos (el 80%), ya es tarde porque se encuentra en estadios avanzados. El 93% de los algo m\u00e1s de 8.000 pacientes diagnosticados al a\u00f1o fallece en pocos meses. La \u00fanica estrategia es investigar, conocer sus causas y su comportamiento para desarrollar tratamientos m\u00e1s efectivos y un diagn\u00f3stico precoz. En esta cruzada se ha implicado N\u00faria Malats, barcelonesa de 60 a\u00f1os y jefa del Grupo de Epidemiolog\u00eda Gen\u00e9tica y Molecular del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncol\u00f3gicas (CNIO).
