A small step by Perseverance has been the last great step of man, at least of his technology, on Mars. NASA's new rover has tested its navigation and mobility system for the first time, and last Thursday, March 4, it ventured from the position in which it landed a few weeks ago to about 6.5 meters away. This trip is one of the first 'fire tests' of the vehicle, destined to travel about 200 meters a day or even more when it begins its true mission: the search for ancient remains of life.
