{"id":43799,"date":"2022-04-06T23:01:18","date_gmt":"2022-04-06T23:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forocilac.org\/?p=43799"},"modified":"2022-04-13T20:19:41","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T20:19:41","slug":"20-abril-encuentro-ciencia-abierta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forocilac.org\/en\/20-abril-encuentro-ciencia-abierta\/","title":{"rendered":"20 APR | VIRTUAL MEETING on open science in our region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>The new virtual meeting of #CienciaEnMovimiento of CILAC will address the issue of open science in Latin America and the Caribbean and the role of the governments of the region.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Based on the study recently published by the CILAC Forum on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/forocilac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/PolicyPapers-CienciaAbierta-ES-v2.pdf\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/forocilac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/PolicyPapers-CienciaAbierta-ES-v2.pdf\">Open science in Latin America<\/a>, produced by\u00a0<strong>Paola Andrea Ramirez<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Samoilovich<\/strong>\u00a0of the Columbus Association, and in light of the policies and strategies contained in the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, we will hold a meeting with the authors of the study, which will include the participation of\u00a0<strong>Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz<\/strong>\u00a0(Senior Vice President, Research Networks, Elsevier),\u00a0<strong>Patricia Munoz<\/strong> (Deputy Director of Networks, Strategy and Knowledge, ANID \u2013 National Research and Development Agency, Chile) and <strong>Federico Torres Carballo<\/strong>\u00a0(Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Costa Rica), and with the moderation of\u00a0<strong>Guillermo Anllo<\/strong>, regional specialist of UNESCO&#039;s Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Programme.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the topic of open science will be addressed around the central question: <em>What can Latin American governments do to strengthen the region&#039;s participation in international research, taking advantage of the open science movement?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"20 APR | Open science in Latin America and the Caribbean: what role for the governments of the region?\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/C2to2IE12wU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
