Experts from the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME) warn that a strong aftershock of magnitude between 5 and 5.5 may occur at some point during the 24 hours after the earthquake, which occurred last night with a magnitude of 6.8 and epicenter a few kilometers southwest of Marrakech, one of the country&#039;s main cities. &quot;We must continue to monitor the area,&quot; warns Ra\u00fal P\u00e9rez L\u00f3pez, emergency geologist at the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME). &quot;This is not an exact science, but in theory the strongest aftershock has not yet occurred. So far, the strongest has been 4.9, and one between 5 and 5.5 may still occur.
