The CILAC Forum launches a synthetic chronicle of the notable events and debates that took place within the framework of the II CILAC Forum 2018, including the results that emerged from these rich instances of exchange. This is a document of great interest, both for those who design public policies, as well as for university, scientific, social and social communication actors.<\/p>\n

From October 22 to 24, 2018, the II Edition of the Open Science Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean was held in Panama City. The CILAC Forum is \u201cthe hub\u201d of science in Latin America and the Caribbean, constituting a regional platform to debate how to strengthen and
\nimplement effective science, technology and innovation policies in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n

In its 2018 edition, the Forum had the participation of high authorities from 25 countries, where more than 200 expert panelists in science, technology, business innovation, state policies and citizenship discussed and exchanged ideas. More than 1,300 participants from all continents attended the more than 60 sessions that took place during the 3 days of the Forum. In addition, during the previous and following weeks, more than 20 parallel events were held, as well as the City experienced a wide range of science dissemination activities throughout the month, thus expanding the scope of the actions developed within the framework of CILAC.<\/p>\n

The Forum had, in turn, an important communication impact, being a trending topic on the networks in Panama during the days in which it was held, with live broadcasts of the high-level sessions and press conferences of the Forum. During the days of the event, more than 4,000 visits were recorded to the CILAC website, which represents a repository of all editions of the Forum, and contains Policy Papers of great interest.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
