UNU-MERIT, a research and training institute of the United Nations University based in Maastricht, invited the Director of the UNESCO Regional Science Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, Lidia Brito, to write an article on its website about the relevance of the CILAC Forum for the region and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
The UNU-MERIT institute conducts research and training on social, political and economic factors that drive economic development from a global perspective, with special emphasis on processes of technological change and innovation.
In the article, Dr. Brito highlighted the importance of the CILAC Forum to meet the objectives of the 2030 Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean and its role as a meeting point for development actors, as well as the need to coordinate the various scientific cooperation initiatives that exist in the region.
