A virtual protest by scientists demands that the precariousness of Spanish science be solved

The fuse of the latest protest against the precariousness of science in Spain has been lit by a 21-year-old girl, Maria Chovi. The president of the Spanish Cancer Research Association, Xosé R. Bustelo, launched a criticism to the scientific community on June 14: “We complain a lot on Twitter and when we drink beers at conferences, but who protested the non-existent budgets? Who asked for the increase in these? […] Pissed off, yes, move little.” Cholvi, Pharmacy student at the University of Valencia, tweeted shortly after: “This has to change! Let's make ourselves heard. Wednesday the 17th at 12:00, everyone: #SinCienciaNoHayFuturo”.
