Remdesivir is not a vaccine, but an antiviral drug, but the effect of national borders on the management of the pandemic is the same that we will soon see with vaccines. This will be a huge mistake, since a global virus needs global solutions, but neither the World Health Organization (WHO) nor any other of the handful of relevant international institutions have the slightest idea how to avoid it. It is not that they lack the necessary coercive power, but that they fight against a natural force more powerful than a tsunami: selfishness.
