We know that light is a form of energy that is expressed as a set of electromagnetic radiations and these are propagated by particles called photons. Photons have more or less energy depending on their wavelength. The longer the wavelength, the lower the energy associated with a photon. For example, X-rays are a type of electromagnetic radiation that we do not see. Its photons have a lot of energy and that is why they are capable of penetrating matter. Thanks to this ability, we use them to identify different types of tissues and they inform us of the possible presence of diseases in the body or broken bones.
