Account Enrique Echeburúa (San Sebastián, 72 years old), emeritus professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), that when a suicide occurs, there are other victims besides the deceased, and they don't receive adequate support. "The first thing is to make it easier for that family, who has lost a child, or that person who has lost a partner, to vent, to talk about it," he explains. "The worst thing is the silence, because many people don't talk to them, even those in their circle of neighbors or friends, because they don't know how to approach them, and this leads to social isolation," he continues in a video call.
