The CILAC Forum is holding a new colloquium with regional leaders, focusing on science diplomacy and the challenge of science to contribute to peace in a world in crisis. Since its launch, more than 34,000 people have participated in CILAC's #CienciaEnMovimiento series of colloquia.

At a critical moment for humanity, marked by migration crises, climate change, geopolitical tensions, and the emergence of new technologies, the need to build bridges of dialogue that promote international cooperation and ensure peace is becoming increasingly evident. In this context, science emerges as a fundamental tool for strengthening diplomacy and fostering shared solutions.

In this spirit, the next Thursday, April 24, at 12:00 (GMT-3), the start will be given Season 6 of the CILAC Colloquia #ScienceInMotion, with a first meeting dedicated to the Scientific Diplomacy.

The meeting will bring together international experts to discuss the role of science in contemporary diplomacy. The challenges and opportunities this approach offers will be explored, both for public policymaking and for coordinated international action. How does science diplomacy work in practice? What policies can be implemented to strengthen it? Is it possible to measure its impact? How complex is its application in different contexts?

Lidia Brito, UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Science, Diego Lawler, CAST-D, and Rodrigo Costas Comesana, Leiden University, and Miguel Fuentes, Santa Fe Institute, will address these topics, moderated by Guillermo Anllo, from UNESCO.
