The Peruvian researcher, former President of the Consultative Council on Science and Technology for Development at the United Nations, will participate, on October 23, in the session on “Technological convergence” within the framework of the CILAC Open Forum, in Panama City.
Francisco Sagasti is a professor at the Graduate School of the Universidad del Pacífico, in Lima, Peru; member of the Advisory Council of the Lemelson Foundation; and advisor to international organizations, government agencies and private entities on strategic issues. In his work as a researcher he published more than 150 academic articles.
This August Nplus1, the news agency related to science and technology, published an interview with Sagasti. In it, the researcher insists on the importance of having political leaders familiar with the development of science, technology and innovation, as well as means that finance advances in this area.
During the interview, the academic mentions his time at CILAC 2016 and the proposal to create financial facilities to promote cooperation in STI and innovation in the region; issue that will be taken up again in the next edition of the Forum to be held from October 22 to 24 in Panama City.
