The official launch of CILAC 2018 will take place in Panama City, Panama, June 22, 2017

 ¡Yeah! The time has come... Panama City is preparing to host CILAC 2018, the second edition of the Open Science Forumyes for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The official launch ceremony will take place on June 22, 2017, in the presence of high-level national, regional and international authorities, as well as the meeting of leading experts, academics, civil society, multilateral organizations, the private sector and governments.

cILAC 2018CILAC 2018 is a cooperation between a series of important regional and national actors, among them the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) of the Republic of Panama, an autonomous institution, with the mission of converting and promoting science and technology in tools for the development of the country. Science, technology and innovation are the engines that drive the progress and development of Panama. SENACYT fulfills its commitment to promote, strengthen and disseminate these three axes of great importance and special relevance for the country.

ANDThe forum was created in 2016 by the Regional Office of Sciences of the UNESCO for Latin America and the Caribbean in Montevideo, with the support of regional and national actors. CILAC is the science “hub” for Latin America and the Caribbean, the first activity that unites the entire region through science, technology and innovation. The forum is a platform for regional stakeholders to meet and offer recommendations on sustainable solutions and mechanisms that support science policies in LAC; in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
