A decade after its creation, the Latin American and Caribbean Open Science Forum (CILAC) is preparing for its fifth edition, to be held from November 24 to 26, 2026, in Brasilia. This meeting will be more than just another event: it represents the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the region's largest science policy forum.
Following the resounding success of the 2024 edition in Colombia, which brought together more than 3,300 participants, CILAC arrives in the Brazilian capital consolidated as the key platform to align scientific advances with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
We invite you to participate in building the agenda!
The Forum invites governments, universities, science and technology agencies, businesses, and civil society organizations to submit their proposals to be included in the official program by June 15th, 2026. This is an opportunity for regional and international leaders to take center stage in the debate about the future of our region.
Type of proposal:
-
Theme sessions: 75-minute meetings (Conversations, Exhibitions or Networking Meetings) focused on the strategic axes of the Forum.
-
Side events: Activities that can be carried out during the Forum or in the week before/after (from November 17 to December 3).
Regarding the thematic areas of the call for proposals, the proposals must align with the priorities of this edition:
-
University-Society Relationship.
-
Green Innovation: Bioeconomy, Decarbonization and Energy Transition
-
Regional Governance and Territorial Agendas in STI
-
The impact of Artificial Intelligence on R&D.
